| Bujin Deck Guide
Welcome everyone to my guide on the Bujin deck archtype. This deck has been out for about one – two formats now but in my opinion its certainly a deck to watch out for this format coming up. Bujins are light beast, winged - beast and beast - warrior type monsters and the deck is mainly based on level/rank four monsters. The main aim of this deck is to protect ur beast – warrior monsters with the other monsters so that you can get your rank four boss xyzs out to deal heavy damage.
Main Cards
Bujin Yamato Light Level 4 Beast - Warrior Atk/Def: 1800/200 Effect: Once per turn, during your End Phase: You can add 1 "Bujin"monster from your Deck to your hand, then send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard. You can only control 1 "Bujin Yamato".
This monster is pretty much the heart and soul of the bujin deck. He helps you set yourself up for your next turns. Running 3 is a staple in the deck.
Bujin Mikazuchi Light Level 4 Beast-Warrior Atk/Def: 1900/1500 Effect: When a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster you control is destroyed by battle or by card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if a "Bujin" monster(s) was sent from your hand to your Graveyard this turn while you controlled this face-up card: You can add 1 "Bujin" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. You can only control 1 "Bujin Mikazuchi".
One of the newer monsters for the deck. Its a good 1900 beatstick and is almost the same as Yamato, also he helps you get eithier a bujin spell or trap that can help you get set up for your next turn. Run 2 – 3 copies whatever your preference is.
Bujingi Crane Light Level 4 Winged-Beast Atk/Def: 1600/300 Effect: During damage calculation (in either player's (turn), if a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster you control battles an opponent's monster: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; the ATK of your monster becomes double its original ATK, during that damage calculation only.
This monster is pretty much kalut on crack. Its a great card for protecting your beast-warriors on the field. Must run 3 copies.
Bujingi Turtle Light Level 4 Beast Atk/Def: 1700/1200 Effect: During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that targets a "Bujin" monster you control: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate that effect.
Another card that is good at protecting your beast-warrior monsters since it is able to negate any effect that targets your yamato which helps keeping it on the field. Run 3 copies.
Bujingi Quilin Light Level 4 Beast Atk/Def: 1600/900 Effect: If you control a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy that target. You can only use the effect of "Bujingi Quilin" once per turn.
Quilin is good for helping you get rid of cards that are a problem for you so that you can deal the heavy damage with your boss monsters. Run 2 – 3 copies.
Bujintei Susanowo Light Rank 4 XYZ Beast-Warrior Atk/Def: 2400/1600 Effect: 2 Level 4 "Bujin" monsters This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls once each. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; take 1 "Bujin" monster from your Deck, and either add it to your hand or send it to the Graveyard. You can only control 1 "Bujintei Susanowo".
The main boss monster of the deck. Susanowo is pretty much like rota for bujins, helping you to get your main cards quicker and he also can attack all your opponents monsters. Run atleast 2 copies.
Bujintei Kagutsuchi Light Rank 4 XYZ Beast-Warrior Atk/Def: 2500/2000 Effect: 2 Level 4 Beast-Warrior-Type monsters When this card is Xyz Summoned: Send the top 5 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard (or your entire Deck, if less than 5), also this card gains 100 ATK for each "Bujin" card sent to the Graveyard by this effect. If a "Bujin" Beast-Warrior-Type monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or by card effect, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card instead of destroying 1 of those monsters. You can only control 1 "Bujintei Kagutsuchi".
This is the other boss monster for bujins. He can help you protect your other beast-warriors on the field and he is a good beatstick to have on the field. Run 2 copies max.
Bujincarnation Spell Card Card description: If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters:Target 1 "Bujin" monster in your Graveyard and 1 of your banished "Bujin" monsters; Special Summon both targets. They cannot be used as Xyz Materials for an Xyz Summon, except for the Xyz Summon of a Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster.
Here is the main spell for bujins which helps you get your rank 4 boss monsters out quickly. Run 2 – 3 copies.
Bujin Regalia – The Sword Trap Card Card description: Activate 1 of these effects. ● Target 1 "Bujin" monster in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. ● Target 1 of your banished "Bujin" monsters; send that target to the Graveyard.
This trap is the main trap that bujins use. Its really good for setting up your plays and also helps getting the cards that you need back to your hand or graveyard. Run 2 – 3 copies.
List of other cards that work well in a bujin deck: Honest Vived Knight Brotherhood of FireFist – Bear Bujingi Hare Bujingi Peacock Bujingi Centipede Fire Formation – Tenki Fire Formation – Tensu Horn of the Phantom Beast Brotherhood of the FireFist – TigerKing Constellar Omega Diamon Dire Wolf Starliege Paladynamo
Deck Skeleton
Monsters 3 Yamato 2/3 Mikazuchi 3 crane 3 turtle 2 quilin 2 hare 2 centipede 1 bear 1 honest
Spells 3 bujincarnation 3 tenki 2 tensu
Traps 3 bujin regalia – the sword 2 horn of the phantom beast
Extra Deck 2 susanowo 2 kagutsuchi brotherhood of the firefist – tiger king constellar omega diamond dire wolf starliege paladynamo
Weaknesses
There are a couple of weaknesses that this deck has: 1. If u dont have tenki or yamato in your starting hand then you will struggle to gain control of the duel but its not a problem if you do get eithier tenki or yamato in your starting hand.
2. Cards like Skill Drain and Light-Imprisoning Mirror can really hurt the deck because the deck does rely on its monsters effects so if you can't get rid of those cards then its pretty much gg.
Well I hope this guide will help you to get the basics on how bujins work and I do recommend you try them out because in my opinion they will b top tier this format along with mermails and firefists. Please leave feedback on what u think of the guide and all the best if u deside to give bujins a try.
Thanks for reading this deck guide from your teacher,

| That looks like pretty much my build. Although. I will sometime soon update my build with the new support. Bujins are pretty awesome when not shut down by light imprison and DNA transplant. I prefer to dump the bujin traps for royal decree and monster reincarnation. That way, bujin can work around sided counters. Black garden is so fn to use in bujin, since crane will double the attack of beast warrior and overpower silly tokens. Special summon from grave support with black garden is a plus too. |
